What Happens in Our Orga Meetings

Our organizational meetings are the heart of our group’s planning and coordination. They’re a space for brainstorming, collaboration, and building community. Here’s a breakdown of what we usually do in these meetings:

🗓 Regular Schedule

We hold our orga (short for "organizational") meetings regularly — usually every two weeks. The schedule is shared in advance so everyone has time to prepare or bring in any ideas they’d like to discuss. While not mandatory, we encourage everyone who's involved or interested in contributing to the group to join as often as they can.

💡 Sharing and Developing New Ideas

A big part of our meetings is ideation. Members are welcome to bring up new concepts for events, workshops, or other initiatives. Whether it’s a fully-formed idea or just a spark, the group helps shape it into something tangible. We value all contributions and use this time to explore what’s possible, what’s needed, and what excites us as a team.

🧭 Planning the Next Month

We use these meetings to map out the coming month. This includes setting dates for upcoming events, assigning roles or responsibilities, and coordinating logistics. It helps keep everyone on the same page and ensures we're staying proactive with our goals.

🔁 Reflecting on Past Events

We take time to review what worked (and what didn’t) in our recent events. This reflection helps us grow and improve. We share feedback, anecdotes, and lessons learned — all in a supportive and constructive way. If you were part of an event, this is a chance to share your experience and shape how we do things next time.

👋 Welcoming New People

Our meetings are also a great way for newcomers to meet the rest of the team. We make sure there’s space for everyone to introduce themselves, ask questions, and get involved. It’s a low-pressure environment where people can jump in at their own pace.

🛠 Open Discussions & Group Decisions

Sometimes we have broader topics to discuss — like group structure, long-term goals, or collaboration with other organizations. We use the meeting space to vote on important decisions or explore ideas together in an open and respectful way.
