Join me for what was voted Germany’s most beautiful day hike of 2022 and one of my personal favorites in Thuringia!
We’ll take a direct train to Gotha and then hop on the Thüringer Waldbahn, which brings us through the forest to Bad Tabarz, where the hike begins. From there, we’ll pass several scenic peaks with stunning panoramic views over the Thuringian Forest and encounter unique rock formations like the Red Tower along the way.
During the hike, we’ll have the chance to collect four Touringen stamps, so don’t forget your stamp book if you’re collecting!
If we still have time at the end, we can explore a bit of Bad Tabarz before heading back.
The hike is 12 km long with about 360 meters of elevation gain, so bring some basic fitness.

Begleite mich auf eine Wanderung, die 2022 zur schönsten Tageswanderung Deutschlands gewählt wurde – und gleichzeitig eine meiner persönlichen Lieblingsrouten in Thüringen ist!
Wir nehmen einen direkten Zug nach Gotha und steigen dort in die Thüringer Waldbahn um, die uns durch den Wald bis nach Bad Tabarz bringt, wo unsere Wanderung beginnt. Von dort aus passieren wir mehrere aussichtsreiche Gipfel mit beeindruckenden Panoramablicken über den Thüringer Wald und kommen an besonderen Felsformationen wie dem Roten Turm vorbei.
Unterwegs haben wir die Möglichkeit, vier Touringen-Stempel zu sammeln, also vergesst euer Stempelheft nicht, wenn ihr sammelt!
Wenn am Ende noch Zeit bleibt, können wir gemeinsam noch ein wenig Bad Tabarz erkunden, bevor wir zurückfahren.
Die Wanderung ist etwa 12 km lang und hat rund 360 Höhenmeter – eine grundlegende Fitness ist also empfehlenswert.
