Our Journey Through Music
BandsPrivat Jena e.V. is all about creating intimate and unforgettable music experiences in Jena. What started as a simple idea has grown into a cozy concert series, bringing together people who love authentic, live music in a warm, welcoming setting.
Whether you're on stage, behind the scenes, or in the crowd, it's about sharing moments and making connections — with music at the heart of it all. From acoustic tunes and singer-songwriter sessions to experimental sounds, jazz, folk, and electronic vibes, there's always something special to discover.
Live Music in the Heart of Jena
Over the years, we’ve hosted more than 100 concerts at the Haus auf der Mauer, featuring a mix of local talent, rising stars from across Germany, and international musicians.
Some of our highlights include artists from nearby Erfurt, established acts from cities like Göttingen, and performers from as far as Canada and the UK. Each show is lovingly organized by our team of volunteers, who turn the venue into a living room for music lovers, usually once or twice a month.
More Than Just Concerts
Since 2013, we've been branching out — not just music, but also words. With our PrivatSphäre format, we now offer a stage for authors and spoken word artists to share their work in an equally cozy atmosphere. The series began with a reading by Nagel, formerly of the band Muff Potter, and has since continued to grow.
Come Play with Us – JamSessions
In 2015, we opened the stage to the crowd. With our BandsPrivat JamSessions, we simply set the scene and let the music happen. These sessions have become a beloved part of our program — spontaneous, creative, and always full of surprises.
Now a regular fixture in Jena’s cultural calendar, the JamSessions have brought together countless musicians and music fans for evenings of collaboration and fun.
