Fuchsturm (means fox tower) is one of the seven wonders of Jena. It is a 30-meter high tower over the hill Hausberg. You can easily see this tower from any place in Jena at day and night, as it is the highest point on Jena and there is a beautiful light on it at nights.
This popular hiking destination is originally from around 1000 years ago. In the beginning it was part of a castle called Kirchberg. Having several reconstructions in the history, it is now a perfect visiting place with the possibility to visit its top and enjoy the view. Now it is maintained by the club Fuchsturmgesellschaft.
Next to the tower, there is an astonishing view point, as well as a nice restaurant to have food and coffee.
